Overwhelm.
This past week, the theme of overwhelm—driven by a great deal of uncertainty and change—has been a common thread among Wise Women.
The stressors in our personal lives are compounded and amplified by the larger shifts happening in the nation and world. This creates an undercurrent of instability that can affect our bodies, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
Uncertainty often triggers old survival strategies that once protected us but no longer serve us—panic, catastrophic thinking, control, self-criticism, rage, denial, or escape.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by changes and uncertainty on a personal, societal, or global level (or all of the above), it's crucial to pause and rest for a moment. In doing so, we disrupt our old survival patterns. Only from a place of regulation can we act from true wisdom.
Take a moment for yourself to rest, recover, and reflect on what a truly amazing woman you are.
