About Us

About Us

Welcome to Inside Wise Women's Wisdom, a space dedicated to supporting women to embodying their wisest, most empowered selves.

Our mission is to empower ourselves and each other to become the change we wish to see in the world.

Rooted in a strength-based, feminist, therapeutic, expressive art therapy perspective, we provide bite-sized wisdom that inspires you to care for yourself, fosters personal growth, and supports you in embodying your power.

Our Goals:

  • To provide authentic reflections, embodied empowerment, psycho-education, practical skills, tools, and expressive art experiences that enable women to integrate our innate wisdom.
  • To raise awareness of the internalized oppression and sexism that impact women’s self-awareness, self-concept, self-acceptance, self-confidence, and self-worth.
  • To reconnect with our power by prioritizing emotional and physical health and cultivating effective emotional regulation skills.
  • To make our resources accessible to all Wise Women, fostering inclusivity and support for every journey. Trauma-informed. Neurodivergent friendly.
  • To create a space where women can connect, share our experiences, and use our voices to uplift and empower one another.
  • To dismantle the patriarchy—one woman at a time. The personal is political!

Inside Wise Women's Wisdom is an independent publication launched in November 2024 by Sarah Coffman, MSW, LCSW as part of A Space for Wise Women.

About Sarah

Founder of A Space for Wise Women

With over 25 years of dedication to women’s issues, Sarah Coffman is a clinical social worker specializing in women’s mental health and well-being. As the founder of A Space for Wise Women, Sarah offers a holistic approach to helping women heal, access their inner wisdom, and build strength through her private practice, Rite of Passage Psychotherapy. She also empowers women through her psycho-educational books, courses, downloads, newsletter, tools, and online communities.

Sarah’s work focuses on supporting women’s health and mental wellness throughout the lifespan, with a specialization in addressing the internalized oppression of women and its impact on their transitions and traumas. Drawing from a trauma-informed, strength-based, feminist, person-centered, relational, and systems perspective, her expressive arts therapy approach combines evidence-based practices, neuroscience, cultural anthropology, and core expressive arts therapy principles. Her philosophy integrates wisdom from a plethoa of therapeutic modalities to empower women to care for themselves, heal their traumas, and embody their wisest, most empowered selves.

Sarah is also a seasoned educator, having taught for over a decade at Washington University’s Graduate School of Social Work. She has designed and facilitated numerous psycho-educational groups throughout her career. Her professional passion lies in creating expressive, psycho-educational curricula to empower the women in her groups, and her work forms the foundation for the therapeutic tools and expressive art experiences offered through A Space for Wise Women and now Inside Wise Women's Wisdom.

When she's not working with women or designing curricula, Sarah can be found outdoors—imperfectly playing guitar, dancing and singing by the campfire, creating art, moving, writing, and connecting with those closest to her heart.
